hmm basic outline:
Guilds playing GvG will select to start a game, and be randomly matched up with teams within their range. Win or loss adds or subtracts points to either guild. The guild hall you play on is randomly determined(as far as I know) but it's either your attacking or defending, and the map layout will usually mirror one one of the guild's Guild Hall very strongly. There are quite a few guild halls available(6+) so theres alot of variety on those maps. Look for Gurus to do some kind of feature on this, we just havent because of NDA info and not wanting to roll out incomplete articles. |

The guild hall that the match takes place in depends on your guild rating compared to the rating of your opponents for random maps.
If your rating is higher than theirs, you play the map for their guild hall, and they have the defenders base. If their rating is higher than yours, they're attacking your base. For challenge matches, whichever team challenges is the attacker, meaning that the guild being challenged gets to play in their guild map. Challenges can be either Rated or Unrated, meaning you can challenge a guild with rating on the line, or challenge a guild for a "just for fun" game, where there's no real stakes other than pride. Random maps will match you against another team within a certain rating of your guild- somewhere around 200 rating. If your guild has a rating of 1200, you can be match against a guild rated somewhere between 1000-1400. I'm not certain of the 200 rating figure, but the concept is the same regardless. Challenge matches aren't limited by rating, but you will gain 0 fame for beating someone too far below your rating for you to be matched against them in random battles. You will gain more rating for defeating a guild ranked higher than you than below you, and lose less rating for losing to a higher-ranked guild. There does seem to be some other variables in determining how much rating you get out of a win, but that's the general idea.
